Planting Seeds

"Seeds carry life from generation to generation without end. Through the seeds speak the voices of the ancestors. Each time we plant a seed, we become ancestors for the generations to come."

This quote emboldens and encourages us as we make our way through winter. It reminds me that what we are doing is not in vain. The task we have taken on is no small one. The vision we have of using the land and space is a good one.

Remembering our place as placeholders in the world keeps us humble. Our dedication to the preservation of this lovely place honors history, and the future histories that will be made here. We are part of that wheel in time, planting seeds as we go.

Our vision and the seeds we will plant is one that is an open, fixed course. We know what we want to see in the development of the grounds and gardens with walking paths with vignettes showcasing the beauty and importance of native plantings. Themes within those vignettes will highlight history, Native American culture, and designs that inspire curiosity and wonder for people of all ages.

The path to creating this requires patience. Lots and lots of patience, and no small amount or relentless faith. Knowing that each day the progress, no matter how small the victory might be that day, will all add up as this beautiful vision unfolds.

We can only hope and imagine how our efforts will affect and inspire future generations, and how they will carry that torch to keep creating something even better.

This year we will open our doors to guests. Stays will be priced competitively as we continue to work on the grounds and restoration/preservation of the exterior of the house.

We hope you will enjoy seeing this space blossoming as a thriving and lovely part of the Village.
